Republicans release Epstein’s ‘dirty Donald’ email
A handful of newly obtained Jeffrey Epstein emails made public by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee include stunning messages in which the predator discussed Donald Trump with co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.
Republicans immediately accused Dems of cherry picking the messages, leading GOP lawmakers to release thousands more.
But many of those — including one typo-riddled exchange in which Epstein declared, "you see , i know how dirty donald is" — have been less than flattering.
In fact, they've only raised more questions and concerns about the president, his behavior and what he really knew about Epstein's secret world.
GOP-released email
An August 2018 email chain shows Epstein exchanging messages with former White House Counsel Kathy Ruemmler, who served during President Barack Obama's tenure, about the political earthquake hitting Trump at the time — his former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen flipping on him.
Ruemmler had forwarded Epstein a The New York Times op-ed titled "Donald Trump's High Crimes and Misdemeanors," saying, "Here's a story… I thought you'd find interesting."
The piece argued there was already a "principled case for impeachment" but not enough courage to act on it.
Epstein's take
Epstein jumped right in with his take, responding in his usual typo-filled style.
"I think he makes the argument that it was his, trumps money, making it not illegal… im sure his acct has flipped anyway," the financier wrote.
He then told Ruemmler he'd spoken to Ken Starr about Trump's "indicments [sic]" and how Trump could cut a deal with a special counsel. Epstein added, "clintons trash can yes starr gave me more. YECHHHH!"
Ruemmler corrected him, saying it didn't matter whose money was used.
"Issue is failure to disclose. Plus, fact that he has lied his a** off about it makes clear that he knew it was illegal," she said.
Epstein answered back, "you see , i know how dirty donald is… what it means to have your fixer flip."
What they were talking about
The exchange appears to center on Cohen's hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels and others in the days leading up to the 2016 presidential election — payments made on Trump's behalf that later became the heart of the New York case against him.
Cohen had pleaded guilty that summer, publicly turning on his former boss.
Epstein and Ruemmler were essentially dissecting what that meant for Trump's legal exposure.
Years later, in May 2024, Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records tied to that very scheme — the same scandal Epstein and Ruemmler were analyzing in the newly released emails.
Other emails
The handful of emails released by Democrats revealed Epstein referred to Trump in an April 2011 email exchange with co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell as the "dog that hasn't barked."
Epstein also claimed an alleged victim — who the White House later identified as the late Virginia Giuffre — "spent hours at my house with [Trump]."
In a January 2019 exchange with author and Trump critic Michael Wolff also marked by typos, Epstein wrote, "[Redacted victim name] mara lago. [Redacted identifying information]. Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever. Of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop."
Representative Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, called the correspondence — which was turned over by Epstein's estate via subpoena — eye-opening.
"The more Donald Trump tries to cover up the Epstein files, the more we uncover," the lawmaker from California said in a press release.
"These latest emails and correspondence raise glaring questions about what else the White House is hiding and the nature of the relationship between Epstein and the president," he continued. "The Department of Justice must fully release the Epstein files to the public immediately. The Oversight Committee will continue pushing for answers and will not stop until we get justice for the victims."
